NFL Now and Tomorrow

It’s football season and for any die-hard fan this is the best time year! You’ve pulled out your favorite jersey, got your NFL T.V. packaged set up, and your fantasy league has been picked. Of wait there’s one more way of being connected to your team, because NFL has launched a new social app with videos and stats, called NFL Now. At the moment it’s free on all phones, but is ad- supported sponsored by NFL Media. Want to be able to skip the ad a customer can upgrade for $1.99 a month to get NFL Plus Now. The way it works is one picks their teams, and then their channel is created with highlights of those teams and final scores.
If you don’t do the upgrade what you’re missing out on a lot. What are offered on the NFL Plus are access to highlighted video, also to archived shows and other documentaries. The app has many characteristics like its sister app NFL Fantasy which has the same categories like: fantasy football charts, Most Popular, and Can’t Miss Play.
For this app to have a future what they need to work on is the launch, start up of the app, and add some press The ad at the start up is 15 seconds long and has a habit of freezing or crashing. The My Channel option does not give the user a heads up of what video is coming up next, but you can like or dislike the video and nothing happens. Rumor on Sports Business Daily that may one day the videos you like on be shared on Facebook. Basically if you actually want to use the app you will need to upgrade it to get all the extras.
The really reason why NFL launched and created the app that is similar to YouTube is to keep the trademark rights on all highlights and major game plays. The reason why this is connected to social media is because; one day after they work out everything other user will be able see other’s likes, dislikes, and teams followed. This app could open doors for many more sports leagues could get their own apps and bring everyone together.
